Rachel Persaud
Administrative Assistant,Kavli HUMAN Project
Rachel Persaud is an assistant on the Kavli HUMAN Project and performs a variety of functions within her role, primarily support the Project’s operations. She brings a wide-ranging skill set from past positions in the fields of education, medicine, and chemistry. Originally from New York, Ms. Persaud attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey. During her college years, she worked as an after-school teacher for various schools in North Jersey and as an optometric technician for her local optometrist in Rockaway, New Jersey. She then worked as a receptionist at Facebook Inc. before obtaining a job in her field as a chemist for a cosmetic company. In these roles, Ms. Persaud has honed her time management, training techniques, and organization of schedules, meetings, and events. Outside of NYU and the Project, she coaches children in the sport of cricket during her free time and helps out with her family business. Additionally, she volunteers to help different foundations through a non-profit organization called Jersey Cares.
